Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Full or part-time considered.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms for patient procedures.
- Ability to perform digital impressions
- Proficient in placing multi surface restorations
- Ability to create temporary crowns and bridges
- Experience with a CEREC is preferred but not mandatory
- Perform medical documentation accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using medical imaging techniques.
- Record vital signs and update patient medical histories as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups, using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assist in inventory management of dental supplies and materials.
Requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, anatomy, and vital signs is essential.
- Experience with Dentrix or Eaglesoft software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Previous experience in a dental assisting role is advantageous but not required; we welcome entry-level candidates willing to learn.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Schedule
- Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM - 5 PM
